Hello, Good afternoon Environmental education group.

I am part of online adaptation course OL 341 (http://www.csds-i.org/ol-341-adaptation-climate-change/) I am working on a project with 2 student partners (DeBlieu & Girling) designing a project  to help communities in South Western Uganda be able to deal with issues as outliner below;

Five villages in the semi-arid region of southwest Uganda have been severely affected by increasing periods of intense droughts. This has lowered water tables, reduced crop harvests, made them less predictable – and caused frequent food shortages for the 300 families (including 845 children) who live in the villages. As a result, many community members are chronically under- or malnourished, which has a particularly devastating impact on children under 5, who suffer from stunting. The stresses produced by droughts and food shortages have also led to community conflicts over access to resources, undermining the communities’ ability to solve their common problems.

I somehow believe non-formal environmetal education can contribute to peoples knowledge and skill enhancement for environmental sustainability.

By postig this, I request for any resource that could help me and my partners in developing  and enriching our interventions, including links to websites or published scientific papers.

I remain eargerly awaiting for your assistance to this.

hello,

our "Peruvian team"is busy to organize a workshop in the community to teach how to recycle and how do composting to the local families. We found some interesting materials on the web but if anyone has good training material, it would be great to know more about this subject.

Thanks in advance

ciao Roberta
